ENTERPRISE

S/Y Enterprise, a 50 m Perini Navi whose refit was managed by WOSA

S/Y Enterprise is a 50 m (164 ft) Perini Navi sailing yacht delivered in 2012, with naval architecture by Ron Holland Design. WOSA Yacht Refit & Survey managed her refits, from a four-month refit in 2021 to an engineering-led refit in 2022 that combined major propulsion, steering and underwater work with traditional yacht finishing.

About the project

Inside the refit of S/Y Enterprise

2022

Enterprise was delivered by Perini Navi in 2012, and her 2022 refit was engineering-led, combining major propulsion, steering and underwater work with traditional yacht finishing.

WOSA coordinated major works on the main engines and their MTU-related systems with specialist service teams, and the generators were completely overhauled, serviced and recommissioned. The steering pistons were overhauled and the steering system verified after reinstatement.

Below the waterline, the shaft supports were line bored and realigned to correct the geometry affected by corrosion and wear, the Thordon cutlass bearings were replaced with the associated dimensional checks, and selected through-hull fittings were replaced and their sealing verified.

On deck, the windlass and gearbox were overhauled and the furling systems serviced. The finishing work covered anchor and pipework repairs, modifications to seating and railings, and the restoration of the exterior varnish.

In 2021, WOSA managed a four-month refit of Enterprise. Corrosion findings led to the line boring of both shaft brackets, the main-engine shafts were replaced along with all the shaft-bracket bushings, and the exterior furniture was repainted.
