M/Y Oceanbird is a 53 m (174 ft) Sanlorenzo 52Steel delivered in 2021. In 2022, WOSA Yacht Refit & Survey managed her eight-month refit in Livorno, Italy, built around a complete interior redesign by John Vickers, followed in 2023 by a second phase of interior, structural and deck works.

Inside the refit of M/Y Oceanbird
2022
Barely a year after her delivery from Sanlorenzo, Oceanbird came to WOSA with a brief that went beyond maintenance. In 2022, WOSA managed her eight-month refit in Livorno, built around a complete renovation of her interiors to a new design by John Vickers, with WOSA coordinating every trade involved, from joiners to engineers and painters.
Alongside the new interiors, the hull was repainted and the main machinery and onboard systems were maintained, so the yacht’s technical side was serviced at the same time as her accommodation was transformed.
2023
In 2023, a second phase of works reshaped key spaces on board. The main-deck pantry, the centre of guest service, was rebuilt with a new layout, cabinetry, service interfaces and finishes. Two bespoke wine cellars were added, each combining custom joinery with its own lighting, ventilation and temperature control, which meant fitting several technical systems into compact spaces without disturbing the surrounding interior. Woodwork, marble and decorative finishes were restored wherever the new design met the yacht’s existing architecture or showed wear.
The most delicate job was on the owner’s deck, where the window openings were enlarged. Changing the openings meant modifying the structure itself, so the structural work, the new glazing and the interior finishing had to be planned and executed as a single sequence.
Outside, the guest areas were refreshed with new furniture, cushions, biminis and awnings, while the sun-deck railings were modified with glass panels. A hydraulic crane was installed to launch and recover jet skis, integrated into the existing deck arrangement. On the foredeck, WOSA carried out teak works and fabricated removable gratings that give the crew easier access for maintenance. Exterior paint repairs and stainless-steel polishing completed the work on deck.
