Inside the refit of M/Y Gin Tonic
Gin Tonic was delivered by Feadship in 1981, and her refit with WOSA, carried out across 2023 and 2024, was a comprehensive technical and exterior project, covering her stabilisation, deck machinery, underwater protection and the details guests see and use.
The stabiliser cylinders were removed, overhauled by specialists, reinstalled and tested. On deck, the crane piston and hydraulic hoses were overhauled and the crane was functionally tested after reinstatement, while the passerelle motor was maintained and teak and grating repairs were carried out.
In the engine room, the generator exhaust components and heat exchangers were maintained, and the bilge pumps were serviced and checked for correct operation. Hull-thickness measurements were taken to verify the condition of the material and support maintenance decisions, and below the waterline the antifouling was renewed and PropSpeed applied to the relevant appendages and running gear.
Outside, the exterior woodwork was restored, portholes were replaced or resealed, a new swim ladder was fitted and the tender fenders were worked on.
